Has anyone found the specific Nissan gear oil for the 6 speed transmission that has 75W-80 as specified in the service manual as quoted below.

"Genuine NISSAN gear oil (XT4447M+) 75W-80, Genuine NISSAN gear oil (ETL8997B) 75W-80, or equivalent *2"

"*2: If genuine NISSAN gear oil is not available, API GL-4, Viscosity SAE 75W-80 may be used as a temporary replacement. However use Genuine NISSAN gear oil as soon as it is possible."

The 75W-80 seems to be scarcer than hen's teeth and none of the Nissan dealers that I have checked have the gear oil. They only have the gear oil for the 5 speed which is 75W-85.

How come there is a warning as indicated above yet none of the Nissan dealers carry it or seem to be able to get it for the 6 speed?

Pretty sure a good 75W-80 will work fine. Like Royal Purple or Redline.

I asked my Nissan Dealership service tech "if I have royal purple put in the transmission, will that void my warranty?" and he was like... no. Royal Purple is uber expensive tho.
