I'm gonna need tires for winter driving . Have Versa Sedan. Used to run Michelin sno/ice or Observe from Les Schwab all year round on my AWD Dodge Caravan. I have no idea what would be best for the Versa. I have stock tires and wheels. Any experience driving in snow/ice country. thanks! Hinxy

I drove 4500 mile in the snow and ice this past winter and my tires of choice are Michelin X-Ice 2 the are the best in my opinion. The tires handled a ice storm in the mountains of PA, another ice storm in OH, 5 feet of snow in upstate NY and 10 inches of heavy wet snow in VA this past winter. No slipping issues at all with this car and tire combo plus I do not have ABS. I have 8/32's of tread life on the tire and should be good for 2 more winters at least.

P.S. 7500 miles were driven on those tires in dry and wet conditions so 12000 miles in one winters use.

I bought Hankook winter tires and Sacchi rims this past winter. I could not find any store with black winter rims in stock, so I had to spend a bit more on some fancy ones, but they looked great. The tires handled very well. I never got stuck in the snow this winter.

Here is a pic of my baby this past winter wearing her winter shoes.

Thanks!! Just what I was hoping to hear. I'm experienced with those tires and Costco sells them and usually are on sale in the fall. Thanks again Hinxy

I used the stock tires in the snow around Denver just fine. I plan to put my OEM wheels back on around late October or so. Don't want to get my Drag's all scratched and banged up from gravel and mag chloride during the winter here.
