I was shocked, and somewhat pissed off, that the Intelligent Key system is not available, and will not be available in Canada. How absolutely stupid is that???!!!

The other thing I am somewhat disappointed in is automatic headlights. How much could it cost to add a dash sensor to turn the head lights on/off in day/night conditions?

I ordered my Versa 1.8SL Arctic White/Charcoal CVT back on October 14th and the dealership still cannot commit to an ETA for my car.

I've got an SL with the conv. pkg. Sorry you can't get the I-Key up there. It didn't take me long to get used to not having to use a key. It's especially nice when leaving Wal-mart to push the buggy up to the hatch, push the little button and unlock the car !

I really do miss the auto headlights and the temp in the mirror that I had on my Titan. I agree....... can't imagine that it would have cost much at all.

My dealer hasn't had any Versas for about 2 months now. Since they're getting the '07 Sentras (and probably the Altimas very soon), I'm just wondering how long it will be before more V's are delivered.

I agree the Intellikey would be a nice feature to have. But I won't complain since mine came standard with ABS which sounds like doesn't happen for our American friends. As for the auto on headlights. My Vibe has that feature and it sure is nice. It took a bit of getting used to not having it in the Versa but now I'm back to the way things used to be in the good old days. Turning the headlights on is pretty automatic for me now. And I've only had the Versa for a couple of weeks.

Auto-on headlights can get deceived pretty easily in some of the weather conditions we see around here.

I just wish the thing had auto OFF headlights (ones that turn off when you turn off the car)... cause I like to run my headlights 24/7 for safety. Bulbs are cheaper than accidents.

I'll second that....not having auto off lights was the hardest thing I had to adjust to.

The other thing I really miss is the auto door lock when you put the car in D....it's a protective parent thing....(Child locks are on...I'm not worried about them getting out as much as I am someone jumping in....even in the sticks we have creapy people hanging out at one of our 3 red lights.

I'm in Canada too and was very disappointed that we don't get the Intelligent Key. It seems like the kind of thing that I would enjoy very much

As for the auto-off... I haven't received my Versa yet, but looking at the specs and manual, it looks like the Versa (in Canada anyways) comes with a "battery saver" option. As I understand it will shut off your head lights after 5 minutes of having turned off your car.

I thought I heard somewhere that you could add on this feature. ( the auto off) at least that would be something to hope for. Its on my s-10 and its made me a little spoiled.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you get rid of your Titan? We are thinking of getting one along with our Versa. The 2007 units look awesome.

I think this will become the new TPMS. Eventually the government here in the States will mandate that all cars come equipped with auto on and off headlights. It's just a matter of time. I've seen and aftermarket system a while back. All it did was interrupt the wires in the headlight switch. A little sensor that looked like one of those alarm leds was mounted on the dash. I don't remember the manufacture.

"2007 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL (6MT/Blue Onyx)Convenience Package / 35% tint all aroundNissan OEM XM satellite radio kit / Splash guardsCurrently in the body shop for damage repair. 1988 Mazda RX-7 GXL (5MT/Sunrise Red)"

Ever Victorius, I am considering the 1.8S, 6MT, Blue Onyx. Used ot have a 1987 Mazda B2000 longbed pickup and I still miss it! My plymouth is on its last legs (of course, it's paid for) so I have to do something. Thought about buying an old clunker (looked at an 85 Volvo 240DL for 1,500) and hate the idea of car payments again, so trying to keep them as low as possible. The Versa is looking good so far.

Tried submitting a new post earlier but keep getting told I'm not logged in, though I am, so posting here. Asking you and anyone else what you thing are the essential add-ons. I figure the ABS system is important for safety, and living in AZ figure tinted windows is not a bad idea.

Floor mats? Are the ones that come with the car better than what I could pick up at a store?

Aluminum window sills needed?

Splash guards? Seem nice but not essential.

As stated, need to keep costs down and don't want to get carried away adding extras, but want to have a reliable vehicle.

Any thoughts are appreciated !

If you're buying the S, you might want to look into the power package before anything else. This includes pwr windows and door. Living in Houston, I know about hopping into hot cars and immediately rolling down windows to let the heat out. Getting the windows tinted will be a very smart idea.

-ABS is another handy feature that you may want to look into.

-Probably the only difference between the mats at the store and the V mats are that you get custom cut mats with the V logo in them. If all you need are mats head down to walmart and pick some up for $20, that's better than paying $150. If you want something with a logo, you could alway search the internet for Nismo or Nissan rubber or carpet mats.

- Aluminum window sills? Do you mean the Aluminum kick plates? These are little aluminum plates that have the V logo in them that site in the door sill. Rather than having the plastic painted surface, you'll have the shinny aluminum plate. It's not neccessary, but it will prevent little nicks and scratches from the sill.

-Living in AZ, I don't think you guys get a lot of rain or salt down on the road, but you may have a lot of dirty and small rocks. The splash guards will help prevent nicks from rocks in the back.

Hey you canadian hoser, give us our Versas back!

Or at least tell your broadcasting network (CBC?) to put some damn hockey on, cause none of the US stations are carrying them this year for some reason.

cjs emailed me, and I replied there, so no need for me to double up my responses.

OMG that is the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. I think that should be our new theme song.

Well to make a link to this topic: canadian versas here don't have this particular system which recognises the owner by the key and lets him enter a car with a push of a button on the door So i guess we are even...
