I was driving my 2010 versa with less than 800 miles on it and the front hubcap came off. The dealer blamed me but I did not run over or into anything. A nissan masert mechanic told me that Nissan knows about the problem and they will take care of it. Has anyone else had this happen. I didn't like the attitude from the Nissan employee blaming me if this a obvious problem.

please reread my comment. the tech said that Nissan knows about the problem plus I wasn't trying to beat anybody. Then reread your response, 1st you say the owner is the culprit then you say your not blaming me? Plus if I would have ran into something I would not be asking this question.

I reread my comments. 3 people invoved. Me, the Nissan dealership employee and the master mechanic. The nissan dealership employee blamed me. The master mechanic said Nissan was aware of the hubcaps falling off. sorry i did not communicate better. actually it was the salesmen (Nissan employee)that sold the car to me is who blamed me.

I know my cousin had a hubcap fall off shortly after she bought it. don't know the cause exactly but she wound up buying another hubcap. she just recently had one break (was her fault) and I gave her one of mine since I have wheels now. I know she said that the hubcap was I think around $50. Expensive stuff so good thing you wont have to pay to replace yours.

I notice out here in Cali that a good 70 percent of Versa S's are missing at least one hubcap. Many folks just give up and go without all 4 - lovely. After paying exorbitant amounts to replace the first 2 hubcaps that fell off within the first 2 months I had the car, I went down to Wal-Mart and bought a set for $15.00. To be honest, they look just as good as the crappy originals and I have not lost a one in over 2 years.

it has been a small issue since the beginning. there was a TSB a couple years ago IIRC.
