While there have been a number of posts to this forum regarding the headliner color, I haven't seen any comments regarding its quality.

My '09 SL has a number of uneven bumps and undulations which are more or less noticable depending upon the outside light and time of day.

But the one thing that I'm amazed at is how it is finished where it meets the front windshield. The formed piece with its pseudo fabric covering has a very unfinished edge with even what appears to be some frayed threads. There are also some edge cutouts for what I can only assume would be to accommodate wires to connect a rear-view mirror with things like auto dimming or a compass (assuming they are available)

It's as if there's a piece of finish trim missing. Is this how all of yours are finished?

Here are two pictures of where the headliner meets the front windshield. One is taken over the rearview mirror and the other over the visor.

Hmm yours does look pretty rough. I checked mine last night and you can't really tell. I will post some pictures of my headliner so you can compare.

Did you buy the car new and is it still under warranty? Maybe you can make them fix it for you.
