I took the Versa to Car Toys and popped the radio out for them to see if the had a wiring harness. The said it wouldn't matter if they had a harness because new speaker wires would need to be run to bypass the post amp. They said most of the new Nissan models are the same way. They even pointed out the the head unit didn't have cooling fins & was fairly light.

I have the S base head unit.

Is this true? Would I need to run new speaker wires?

Or find the AMP and wire around it. OR use the AMP the way it is.

You can probably splice into the wires that go into the factory deck. I would suggest buying a new deck from crutchfield or at least email a request for a wiring diagram. The post amp shouldn't be a problem at all.
