Versa hatchback release button not working

So it has come to my attention that I no longer can open my hatchback door anymore by hitting the release button. The latch isn't broken or anything because I can open it from the inside by dropping the seat and reaching in to unlock the lock.I don't know why this has happened but it is kind of annoying.

Anyone know if this is a known issue and/or a good fix?

not a known issue to plague others. It's either a fuse or the switch.

I had this happen on mine. It took the dealer 3 times to find the issue. It was a corroded ground somewhere.
