Hey

Pretty new girlfriend has a versa hatchback (canadian if it matters) and is hoping to get a subwoofer installed in her car. I have only actually been in the car once, and was in no state to check out the cd player lol, does it have rca subwoofer outputs of any kind? She just wants a cheap setup (im donating a used 15" woofer) and Im looking to buy a cheap monoblock.

ANy tips or anything would be appreciated. Not looking forward to tearing into a new car and running power and rca connections...

THANKS

There are no RCA connections on either stock stereo. In the SL there is a connection for the optional subwoofer behind the driver side luggage panel that you can use for signal, but you'll still need to run power for the amplifier.

What do you mean by the subwoofer connection. Ive never done anything but straight rcas off the deck. Curious what would be involved in that. I would LOV to not to have to take the deck out so that makes it easier for me. But I guess I still need a remote wire.....???

Power wire from the battery shouldnt be a problem

Any advice on that rca and remote connection would be TITs though

You don't need to get RCA connections. There are some amps that have a stereo level input, meaning you can use your stock wires from the headunit and connect from them.

The amp I have is an Kenwood KAC-8104d mono amp, which has the level inputs. All you need to do is either get an 8 or 4 gauge amp installation kit. I have an 8 gauge rockford amp installation kit.

Look for an amp that has the input feature. The stock wires can be connected through the input. It only uses one connection.

Hi guys!

I had exacly the same plan with the sub.

But the problem is I already looked for a stock plug in the trunk but found nothing. Could someone tell me more about that, or even post a picture of it if I'm not asking too much. I'm driving a SL version too.Edit: I have a canadian version too.

Would I have to take off the cd unit, hope no it would be easier.

Thanks a lot

I don't have any advice pertaining to your question (sorry) but I did notice that you misspelled "Infiniti" in your profile...and seeing as you own an Infiniti, you'd think you'd notice that it doesn't have a y on the end, but an i. That is all.

The wires for the stock sub are tucked behind the body panel above where the hatch light connects. You have to remove the driver side luggage compartment panel in order to get to it. There are two connectors not used in there, one is for the satellite radio, the other is for the optional subwoofer. (Actually, if you have satellite radio, only one will be unhooked.)

If you want descriptions of what wire color is what, download the shop manual, it has full descriptions of all such info. There is also a pretty good how-to on the nissanversa.org site describing how to remove the stock stereo if you decide to splice directly into the sending lines there. (actually for my current setup, that is where I got signal from.)

Thanks a lot, I'm gonna chek this tomorrow morning.

Edit: Gosh, I must be blind, I can't see it. You mean, in the trunk right beside the light?
