Versa got smashed by a drunk driver

Not very happy about it. Basically, my car was parked in front of my work while I was inside getting ready to close. I hear a screech and a smash, look out the window and my car is sitting on top of a bunch of bushes and a white jeep liberty is driving away... so I chased the car down on foot, luckily someone was leaving and saw it happen and used their truck to block the exit.

The Versa got hit in the front and slid back 6-10 feet over the curb and on top of a bunch of bushes.... not drivable, probably not totalled... just aggrivating. I'm going to go get some stuff out of it in a few so I'll take some photos.

Probably has no insurance, so you're ins. will take the hit. Sorry to hear about this. At least you were not in the car at the time.

she was insured thank god. we'll see by who in just a minute when I get the accident report(the cops wouldn't let me get near her since I was angry)

got the police report, she was charged with hit and run, DUI/MUI, open container, reckless driving, and striking a stationary vehicle. Her insurance is cooperating and got me in a rental. Supposed to go look at the car tomorrow and see if it is repairable.

PS. She was 18 years old and driving mommy's car.

at 18 with those charges she should be losing her license for a while...

Not sure yet it happened yesterday. Insurance is towing it to an adjuster/estimator on Monday. I do not believe they will write it off though.

They better, I have put too much time and money into the car and I do not want to go through it all again with another car.

Got a call from the Nissan body shop that is going to "repair" the car if it is worth it.

First thing he said, They do no cover any aftermarket or custom work done on the car so.... My BMW Headlight conversion, blacked out headlights, fog lights, blacked out grill, Stillen front lip, and the intake is not covered by the insurance company. They will put the car back to the way it was at the time it left the dealership.

I noticed the car was hesitating when I drove it home and made weird noises under the hood and they will not even take a look at that because the rim/tire did not suffer any damages...


I am going to have a long battle it seems with the insurance company over this....even though this was not my fault I get punished. I can only hope they write off the car at this point.

Whatever they do, I hope it works out for you. My Land Rover got written off just last month. The bodyshop added a lot of repair time to the car and the insurance company decided to write it off instead..maybe take your car there...lol

$5000 in repairs. Not enough to write it off.
