ok, I was in denial that our Versa bought on Jan of 09 had this fuel pressure problem. For a few months it was fine, but the car did not see a lot of road duty. As soon as the weather warmed up it was showing the signs of a no start after the car sat for more than 1/2 hour...
This was sporatic. Since the car had very little mileage at the time and was not getting used daily we just waited. During the winter months of 09/10 it only did it once in a while. I`m pretty sure I read about the issue by then right here from this forum!. So when warmer weather arrived it had come back with a vengance. The Versa would not restart almost every time it was shut down. So it was time to deal with it. Stopped by our local dealer and made an appointment to have it repaired. The car has a longer purchased warranty but currently at 11K on the clock. We brought the car in the afternoon before our appointment for the following morning. thinking it would just sit there overnight until the designated repair time. soon after we went off to a late lunch and shortly after we get a call from the dealer stating the the vehicle is repaired and we can come back and pick it up... WOW!!!
so we drove back in the same day to retrieve the car... Under warranty, no cost, just signed work order.

now, on the day we made the appointment, I had mentioned to the service writer that I read about a TSB on this vehicle on these forums, and also threw in that I`m into motorsports yada yada yada. I understand that they must hear that often and watched his look as if here`s another mechanic, roll eyes. I said the car is acting like it has this issue, he didn`t assure me of these issues, and just said they will look at it... Funny that the person across the counter replied and said, just please don`t bring the vehicle in with a full tank of fuel... I commented, then you know what to do, and chuckled...

when picking up the car, I asked what was wrong, and the service writer needed the ticket to tell me what the issue was...

after reading the paperwork myself, it says> Customer says there is a possible TSB on vehicle, complains of no start after 1/2 hour of driving... etc etc....

now my question is: where is this part that they changed so rapidly? is the fuel pressure reg attached to the fuel pump assy? is it your typical regulator that attaches to the fuel rail?
the ticket only states the part is fuel pressure reg assy and packing...

since the car smelled like fuel inside when we picked it up, I thought they have access to the tank from under the rear seat maybe?

but nontheless it`s all fixed and another happy Versa owner!...
Kudos to the dealer, it was an experience...

FPR is attached to the fuel pump assy inside the tank. It's accessed under the rear seat. Takes ~1 hour to replace.

It amazes me to see that this fuel pressure drop starting problem has been going on for a long time including on the Sentra's since I see a service bulletin from 2006. There is no excuse for this to be happening on 2009 vehicles such as our Versa's since it is a known problem and should have been fixed years ago.

I think this one would be another of those Nissan blunders. My '06 Sentra 1.8 has this very same problem and I'm out of my warranty period at 70k miles. The car does exactly as described above, won't start up the first time shortly after a drive, without cranking for several seconds (or turning the the key to "ON" and waiting some seconds sometimes).

LAME! Nissan seems to have been slacking on a lot of things, like power window regulators going bad prematurely on my '01 Xterra, '01 Quest and '06 Sentra (at the time 56k miles and barely ever having been used), and not fixing the damn problem!
