I replaced my 2010 Versa hatchback Front bumper skirt today. I have a question regarding whether or not the center area of the bottom of the skirt is intended to be attached to the valence - Nissan part 62663EM30A. The skirt has 6 holes in the bottom edge from the midpoint outward, both directions. The valence has as many holes.

My problem/question is that it appears impossible to attach clip nuts to the valence because it has a 90 degree upward bend at the leading edge. Is there push-in nylon nut instead of a clip-nut thats intended to be used? I did attach the 3 M6 screws on the left and right bottom of the bumper.

No fasteners were there previously, but I don't know if maybe someone else may have removed them.

thanks for any help

There are several two piece push-in 'one first then the center goes in later to fasten the part' used there. Part C105 in service manual.

6 holes in front of valance and 5 in back, the back edge has 1 in the center but front side has 3 on each side but none in center. The back 5 appear to be small bolts or screws. Front uses push pins mentioned.

That on an '11 which should be about the same.

That stuff gets changed all the time depending on what box of fasteners is on the assembly line at the time. They use more than one vendor to keep the lines full of parts and sometimes things change.

I myself never go back in with push-pins of any sort, they simply get too loose with a second use; I tend to replace all parts there with positive bolts or screws. I haven't used a plastic pin in years, they get tossed as I yank them. It stops rattles of all sorts too.

Ok since clip nut are not possible, (the 90 deg bend at front), I'd need to remove the valence back fastners to get access, and use nuts and bolts to attach it to the bumper). Thanks for the info about the plastic rivets - I didn't assume that the might have been used originally.

It's always helpful to positively screw the valances down with something more substantial than simple push-pins as the valances come off so easily just using them as soon as you start scraping the higher curbs pulling up over them. Why so many cars are missing that lower part. I often leave them off anyway once they get pretty ragged as missing parts cause no problems.
