I think ultimately those who choose versa over fit are people that have a more mature taste and lifestyle, which includes paying for the car and working a full time job or being a college student. Im personally a 19 year old college student and for me, picking the versa was an easy choice over the fit. Personally i dont give a rats *** if people dont like the look of my car, id ont buy cars to show off, especially when im taking government loans and eating kraft dinner 5 nights a week. If your the type of kid whos parents pay for your car, go with the Fit, youll have fun, but if your the person who has to work hard to earn it, versa will give you more bang for the buck. If someone thinks your car is ugly, that person isnt worth hanging out with to be honest. At the end of the day, my versa is able to comfortably transport my friends from residence to downtown clubs whereas the fit driver is doing zig zags on some road alone with friends who are forced to take a cab cause they couldnt fit in his car. Practicality/functionality always always my friends over looks. Versa=practical car, for practical peoplefit= toy car/go kart for kids who use to much hair gel

I just noticed an ad in my latest Car and Driver for the Fit. It gave me a pretty hearty laugh. The ad talks about how sporty and powerful the Fit is!

I wonder what the Honda designers will do if they ever run across the word "torque" in a dictionary...

LOL!

The local Honda dealer got a blue Fit in. Since I had never seen one before, I made hubby pull in and drive by the itsy bitsy car! I got out and looked at the sticker:

$16,650.

HAHAHAH!

It had ABS brakes. Mine doesn't. But you know, I can FIT in my VERSA! So can four other people! And I can haul stuff home from Sam's! The Honda salesman didn't even step outside.

was that sticker before or after the dealer added extra "dealer extrotion pay"

becuase it might be more like 18K >_<

but i would love to own a fit, since i am a honda gear head who work on alot of honda and yes i do have tons of gel in my hair. but i went with the versa on sheer price alone. >_<

When I was shopping, the "Dealer Extortion Pay" for the Fit was $4,000. I bought my Versa about an hour later, for about $5K less.

Actually, for pratical side, e.g., carrying a lot of stuff, I have found the Fit to be more practical than the Versa. For the comfort, I give it to the Versa hands-down.

In Japan, the Fit often outsells the Versa (Tiida) by a 2 to 1 margin. Over there, it is the Fit that is known to be a car for pratical people, and there are plenty of people like that (thus the sales figure). And not all of the Fit owners in Japan are kids as you describe. In fact, very few of them are.

My Versa is a FAMILY car. I think maybe the difference is why we buy the thing. The Fit is listed at 31/37 city/hwy while the Versa is 30/36. I'm also 5'9", tall for a woman.

My car isn't a commuter car either. Most miles will be highway miles (like the 120 miles round trip to the Nissan dealer today!)

Maybe if I were 5'4" driving 30 miles in rush hour traffic in Houston or Tokoyo, I'd want something designed for that.

If I'd wanted something strictly for handling cargo, I still wouldn't have bought the Fit. I would have bought a Vibe.

In my mind, the only two cars that would have done what I wanted were the Civic and Versa. I couldn't find a Matrix to even test drive it, but I know that the Vibe has a Toyota engine. The Civic was $5000 more.

The Fit was never in the running.

I am a 6'0" male and drove the Fit for hours on end in Japan and had no problem fitting myself comfortably. I also drove the Tiida there, and found it even more comfortable than the Fit.
