Hey all,

Posted this in the versa forums and they suggested I posted it here. This is in regards to my friend's 2007 versa. It's an SL CVT with intelligent key and has about 60k miles on it. The last couple of weeks, the car has been doing some strange things. If she leaves it sitting for a long time, sometimes she'll come back to it and the driver's door will be unlocked and everything will be reset like the battery was unplugged (ie: the clock, radio presets and tripometer will all be reset). She's worried because she obviously doesn't want her car coming unlocked on her while she's at work...anybody have an idea on what's going on? The battery was tested to be good and the starter is strong after this happens, there's not corrosion on the battery terminals and obviously the alternator is working fine or else the battery would have died long ago. I'm thinking it's something to do with the intelligent key, which has me worried because she's out of warranty...

I would have it diagnosed at a dealer, the computer stuff with these new cars can be a real pain and require some specialized equipment to figure out. I wish i could help you more, but i have never heard of this problem before and thus dont have a good solution. If the dealer does diagnose it, post what the problem is and ill see if i can help you fix it if you dont want the dealer to do it.

if you think it may be the i-key, remove the battery in the i-keys and use the mechanical key for a day or to, or just leave the i key at home all togetheri havent seen this issue, but versas are still, "new"if the problem persists, i would replace the battery if you are refusing to go to a dealer
