Finally got the Kit in. My Grouch put it together. She did a good job I think.

It's a very dark and rainy here today. Thus the Flash. After taking the pictures I notice I should have sweeped or vacumned the floor. As I said, it raining and nasty today.

Are those just veneers that get put over the old parts, or are they actual replacement parts?

Looks interesting. Some of the pieces look like overkill (like the center of the steering wheel and the CD controls), but overall it looks nice.

Looks like a quality kit. I'm definitely not a fan of fake wood interior bits, though.

May be fake though the company advertises that it is Real Wood. It should be according to the price. If it is wood, it's definitely Veneer.

They are pieces with a rubber type backing, covered with a very sticky substance. Once the tape is removed and put is place, removal is very difficult.

Wood Dash Company states specifically it is real Walnut Wood. Has to be a veneer as it is thin.

Grouch has an Avalon with this trim. It is a stick on from the factory as I toke a dash part off and could easily see.

To have a solid wood dash to replace the pieces as they are would be cost prohibitive for me. Just imagine what a curved piece of Walnut would cost to fit the console. The cost might be almost equal to the car! I've never seen a solid wood dash except in the Exotic Cars costing hundreds of thousands. although they may exist.

Ever Vicorious - There are 60 parts to this kit. Suppose anyone could choose to apply what they wanted. I left the front door handle pieces off. I put them on the rear doors but after looking I'm not sure I like that. I hesitated on the steering wheel but decided to do it. I like it, so that's the important thing.

The company has a kit that has less parts should a person want that.

The picture doesn't show all. The rear area has pieces for the doors, the cup holders, and the back of the console.

Shot of the backdoor trim. This shows the door handle trim I did not put on the front doors. Can't decide if I like this or not.

Hmm... don't like the trim on the handle. the trim around the door handle piece is ok... I do like the door arm rest trim though. It's a tossup for me, though, because I also like the faux carbon fiber we already have.

Not a problem at all, especially when my Grouch did the work. Just pay attention to the instructions, work patiently, and reap the benefits. Don't apply crooked one because when they are stuck it tends to be permanent.

This particular company has several materials to select from.

Nice job. I think it looks nice. I don't think I would do this to my interior, but it looks very classy nevertheless.

I like!I've been looking at these kits since I got my V, but I really wanted to see one installed, Thanks Mudd!It's tough to tell from the pics, but how thick are the pieces?After they are installed, do you see a raised edge around each trim piece, or are they thin enough and/or beveled to fit smoothly?I'm considering the real carbon fiber myself.

The pieces are maybe 1/16 to 1/8 thick. Some and probably most of the places they will be slightly raised, to their thickness. The edges are beveled, no rough edges.

The fit was about perfect on the small pieces. They did a good job with the cutting.

Assuming the Carbon is as well made as the Wood, you should like it very much.

Remember to clean your area to stick the pieces well with a good de-greaser.I used alcohol, and be sure you have it aligned before pressing. The little pieces are a handfull to get loose!
