Also, since there's been some talk about the SX4 here lately, this seemed relevant: http://www.autobytel.com/conte.../2305

nice :-)

I had a chance to see the SX4, but never got around to test driving it. Based on features/looks/cost, the SX4 would definately have been my #2 choice over the Fit/Yaris/Aveo/whatever else.

Why is the Versa being compaired to the Fit & Yaris? Isn't it more in the Matrix class?

The comparison is between entry level cars. The matrix/vibe is not the entry level vehicle. That would be the yaris and the wave. Having said that...there really is no comparison between the Versa and the Yaris or Wave. The Versa outclasses them both.

Yeah, even though the Versa is bigger and more luxurious than the Fit, it still gets compared to all those new subcompacts because it was released at the same time and with the same type of goals: mainly as a gas saver that still has lots of space (be it cargo or passenger) that SUV drivers could see themselves in. So, as it might not feel like the same class of car, it's kinda grouped with that bunch.

I bought the Versa because of its size, driveability & bang for the buck (I used have Datsuns up to 1992).

I sat in an 2007 Suzuki SX4, pulled the seat back and... Where's the leg room? I am just under 6'1" Unimpressed. Fit? Nice the rear seats fold flat unlike my Versa (the only thing it has on it). On my Versa, I slide the driver's seat all the way back & then sit in the rear passenger seat right behind the driver's and voila: Several inches space between my knees & the driver seat! ROOM!

Suzuki Swift/ Chev Aveo / Pontiac Wave? My father has a 2006 5 door 5 speed. OK (he got a REALLY good deal on his) but the Auto is Horrible (my wife wanted such, thus why we have the CVT Versa SL)!Yaris? Too small & the Auto is like above.
