Please pardon the new topic, in case information of this online review of the Versa has already been posted here. However, I thought it was a fairly objective and unbiased review that seemed to parallel my own thoughts. The only real exception that I have with the review is that I like the way the Versa hatchback looks - so I wouldn't ding it for "questionable styling". Otherwise, I can find no fault with it and think that it is an accurae assessment of the 2007 Versa.

Thanks for the heads up on the evaluation. It is a good read and I agree with most of it. The fuel mileage issue is the V's only real downfall. I have 4000 miles on mine and I get consistently between 32-34 mpg. I hope the low mileage is just a break-in issue that eventually disappears.

That was by far the best review I've read on the car. It even does a better job of describing the car than Nissan's own website, in my opinion.

Decent review!

I do like how they finish up saying basically, if you plant your foot in the fuel injector rail, you're gonna get low gas mileage.

Just got an email from the Nissan dealer this morning saying they got in a few Versas. Maybe not the specific color/trim I want, but I'm going to head over, check 'em out and maybe test drive one.

Where, exactly, did he find a 1.8SL with BOTH ABS and the Convenience package?

Ah well... yes, I do always enjoy a good unbiased review. This makes two... this one, and the Popular Mechanics review.

I sent a letter to their editor praising the review, and pointing out a couple things (ABS+ Convenience = not available, bad gas mileage is from bad driving techniques, cargo area is more useful than you think)

Actually the Second Opinion Review at the end is very positive in regards to cargo capabilities. While it starts off on a somewhat pessimistic note, it ends most positive that the child, Costco purchases, and even items from an unplanned Home Depot stop all fit.

I had noticed that too... I was just referring to the main review.

If you read other reviews on autobytel, you'll notice that although they only got 24mpg in the Versa 6 speed. They got 23 in a Ford Focus ZX5 with 4 speed automatic and 27mpg with a Honda Fit.

Dang... and I thought I flogged MY Versa when I autocrossed it... I've never done worse than 26, and that was shifting entirely above 3.5k...

I'm not a particularly conservative driver, but I never fail to hit 30.
