I was at Willowbrook mall today in Langley. When I came out there was a black Versa (same color as mine) parked right beside me. I thought - hey cool another V owner. Then as I got closer I noticed the condition of his V. There was a big dent in the passenger side corner of the rear bumper. The whole bottom edge of the car on the drivers side from the front to the rear tire was scraped and jagged as though he had driven over a curb. It had been damaged a while because it was all rusted. The car was in rough shape. I was almost embarrassed to be parked beside him. I sure hope that someone on this board doesn't disrespect their V like that.

that's just sad. i could never let my V sit around with dents and damage. let alone rust and such. i'm already anal about the cars that park next to me as it is.

My Versa has a damaged rear bumper, I havn't fixed it yet because there is no body damage. I've been driving like this for almost 6 months now. I don't disrespect my Versa, I'm just not willing to shell out the cost of a new bumper + paint right now, as I just bought a house and all... I will fix it, eventually.

I have had a crack in the windshield for over a year now. I just can't see spending $600 on an econbox that could break again next week. I will replace the windshield when it is pitted to much to see out of.

Won't it fail inspection? 'round these parts, a cracked windshield will not only fail inspection, but could cause you to be pulled over (and a stern lecture on the dangers of a cracked windshield).

Not every state requires a vehicle safety inspection. For example, Illinois does not require one. The only thing we have to do is pass an emissions test every other year once the car turns 5 years old.

And you should see some of the crapboxes people drive around here too because of it...totally unsafe.

The number of states that have safety inspections is actually in the minority.

There are only two times a car will go in for a safetey inspection in WA:

1) Vehicle is a salvage title, and you want to register it. They check to make sure it was properly rebuilt. The salvage title will remain, but you can register the vehicle if it passes.

2) Vehicle is registered in another state and you want to register it in WA. They will quickly check for damage, but this is mostly just checking to make sure the car isn't stolen.

So far I got a little crack in the windshield (smaller then the tip of my finger) and scratches on my pasenger side fender from me sliding against a wall, but its ok....I wasn't mad at myself...it was kinda funny. Anyways I'm going to call my insurance agent to see what he can do about the windshield and my fender I'm probablyb just going to leave that there forever. Its not that bad just took the clear coat off.

I'm sure you were laughing like a maniac as the car careened into the wall, sparks shooting out everywhere... were you being shot at as well?

Actually it was night time and i was faded. And there were people walking next to me so I had to make the turn tight because I didn't want to wait for them. Anyways I felt it but when I got out because my car is black and it was night time I didn't see anything or felt anything on the fender. Until 2 days later walking to my car...

I would have been pissed at myself if I was sober...its not even that bad anyways and I know there are more dents and scratches to come...no point in fixing it until I want to sell it just incase another something else happens...dont want to replace another fender, especially the same one.

Makes me feel safer to be on the East Coast, other than the fact that I know we have plenty of drivers like him out here, too!

A call to the Fullerton PD is needed. You have publicly admitted to driving drunk & fleeing an accident.

I don't understand why states still waste their money on this. I work for the DOT here & it has been tossed up a few times, but the cost to benefit is not worth it. They are even looking at ditching the emmisions testing & setting up mobile sites that flag dirty cars & sending them tickets.

I have had a cracked windshield on my Xterra for 3 years now. This summer I think I will replace it since it is 6 years old & very pitted.

Amazing! He almost sounds PROUD! What if it had been one of the "people walking next to you" that you had hit instead of a wall. Time to grow up lain.

Seriously, dude, not_cool. I have lost at least two friends to drunk driving (neither of them were the drunk drivers). Please, promise yourself to never do it again. If not for yourself, for the other drivers on the road. Obviously, you were drunk enough to hit a wall, what if that wall wasn't there? + = which leads to
