I have over 100k miles on the car and my intention was going to change the spark plugs (didn't happen yet due to wrong spark plug socket size).

Took out the headers and cleaned the throttle body..put everything back in but only one problem I see now is that the rpm is moving up/down to 2000 rpm..Prior to to opening, I did see the gasket on the header being offsetted a little...

ould this be the issue? Anyone experienced anything like this on MANUAL versa 07? Is there an idle adjustment to bring it down to normal rpm?

Thx again,

rick

I've heard that cleaning the throttle body will make it idle weird at least that's how it's like for some altima owners. They said after a month or so it went back to normal after getting a little dirty I guess. You can try to do the idle air volume learning trick.

1. Warm up car
2. Turn engine off for at least 10 seconds
3. Turn key to ON not start and wait 3 seconds
4. Fully depress and release the accelerator 5 times in 5 seconds
5. Wait 7 seconds and depress the accelerator for 20 seconds until the check engine light stops blinking and stays on
6. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the MIL turned ON
7. Start engine and let it idle
8. Wait 20 seconds
9. Rev up the engine two or three times and make sure that idle speed and ignition timing are within the specifications

This helps with rough idling. Then again I know next to nothing about cars. C-17's on the other hand...

Result.

I tried the relearning steps..didnt work on a versa.
I then went to stealership and they charge me $99 to reprogram computer back to factor spec..everything is ok.

correct me if I'm wrong here but wouldn't disconnecting the battery force the computer back to defaults. From there it'd have to relearn everything anyway after some driving? It used to work on another car I had when I had idle issues.

yes, basically resetting the ecu is a simple matter of unplugging the battery for a period of time... then after that the car has to relearn all your driving habits and whatnot

Weird that's the exact same thing they did on my versa when it had idling problems. It was under warranty though. Surprised it didn't work.
