!!!WARNING LONG READ!!!

This is Veronica

Image

She is a 2010 Nissan Versa 1.6 and she is in my GF words my mistress. I bought her brand spankin new with only 38 miles on her with money I have been saving since I was 16. Since getting her I have installed Tein S tec springs a Kenwood dpx 505 595 545 or whatever it is. memphis audio speakers and two 12 inch kickers. I purchased a DC sports intake and NTD throttle controller last week and will be installing them as soon as they come in along with pics and a D.I.Y. Im comming from a local forum here in Atlanta and even though I know them personally the activity is low, since I get home late from work and my GF is normally asleep and well I get kinda bored and lonely :frown: But from what I can tell this is a pretty decent forum with friendly people who can respect what little I have done. I plan on having a lot more done to her in the next year. A little personal info I am currently awaiting being shipped out to paris island to become a marine and have a good income so I can afford new toys for my V. I am interested in AutoCross. I love my V of course my previous vehicle was a 2006 Toyota Tacoma single cab with a V6 Supercharged engine swap with the transmission and rear end to match from an XRunner that my cuz had and totaled by insurance but coulda been fixed. before that a 94 toyota pickup with a JZA80 or more commonly known as the 2JZ. sadly both trucks where completly demolished one by a dear the other by a fence/barn/tractor. Learned my lesson with light rear end rear wheel drive vehicles "TRUCKS" and moved on to something a little more uh Versa'ish. This however will not stop me from playing around.

BY THE WAY I DONT ALWAYS GO ON FOREVER unless its late on a friday and there is nothing to do and im drinking red bull and watching H2.

Nice Versa, and welcome to the forums. I just installed the AEM CAI, and for sure, it is worth it. The sound is incredible! The Tacoma sounds like a pretty nice ride though, I wouldn't have minded trying that one out! I also have the throttle controller, and that is pretty fun to play with too.

Thanx man is yours the 1.8 or the 1.6 since looking over the threads last night I have been worried about it because of thecallmewhatshisname or whatever his name is lol. and his major problem he had after installing it. But the NTD is just plug plug plug and PLAY!!!!!

and yeah the Tacoma was by pure luck too it was slammed and had a magnaflow exhuast sitting on the torque thrust II Cobra Rims with a completly stock 4 banger when I heard my cuzzin wrecked his XRunner. Went to the junk yard put a battery in her started right up ran like new, put it on a trailer took her home and went to work. It was right there in front of me only 200 dollars for engine transmission and rear end from the junk yard I could not pass that chance up.

Mine is the 1.8, but i believe everything is the same as far as the throttle controller and CAI go.

Welcome to NiCO, but in the future could you avoid thread titles that result in Elvis Costello playing on endless repeat in my head?

Marry her. She'll still spend your money for you, but it'll be more socially-acceptable.

Unless you guys are having trouble making ends meet, I'd just say, "Look, this is my hobby. It's what I'm into, and it's what I'm going to do. We can afford it, and I'm going to spend on it. You can continue to spend the money I make on the things you like to do only so long as you acknowledge that there are things I like to do, too."

Thats what I told my girlfriend. Right about the time I bought my speakers, headunit, and sub, she bought an Ipad.. Her justification was "yeah, but im gonna use my ipad every day." Cause I totally don't listen to my stereo every day in the car..

No we dont have financial issues but she does count my pennies for some unknown reason.

I tried to do the lip but the tape didnt hold right, I think I got the wrong material so I will have to screw it without taping it and I dont know how that will turn out.

You should have seen the look on her face when I took out the down payment for the RX7. :ohno:

Got the DC CAI and NTD today. Installed on the 1.6 very little issues. Oh FYI the throttle body on the 1.8 must be a good 1/2 to 1'' bigger! you will see when I get the pics up. Works great though, can anyone say GROWL!!!! the NTD is great fun. Except when I put it in eco 4. That was the first time I stalled my V EVER!!

I did this exactly. You just need to go slow and put a screw every 4inches or so. Especially where it curves up in the middle. you definitely need to either jack it up or take off the bumper, and it helps to have 2 drills available: one two pre drill the holes, and the other to screw everything in! Hopefully this helps!

Thanks man I will try this when I have some time. I just got two new dewalt drills one being a drill and the other being an impact driver so that wont be a problem. Is it screws? or bolts? cause I am worried that the screws wont hold tight on the plastic.

I just grabbed the thinnest screws with the widest threads I had down in the basement. I believe they were just drywall screws :chuckle:. I don't think bolts are necessary. Pre-drilling is definitely a good idea though since you could split the plastic. I drilled through both the rubber and the plastic, hand threaded the screws in through the rubber and just far enough into the plastic to hold it in while i used the power drill.my screws stick waaaaay through though.. you only really need like 1" screws. mine were 2.5".

WOW 2.5'' drywall screws. At work we only use 1 1/8'' so that will work just fine.

Thanks man your a life savor.

BY the way, I just checked out the picture of your throttle controller. Would it be possible to pop out that middle section and flush mount the TC? I know the side sections pop out because I got rid of one of them to flush mount my amp switch their. If so, that would look pretty good.
