Hi Guys, I just recently bought a 2013 Nissan Rogue SE FWD. I have a question about the vents on these things. Basically, when I'm driving on the freeway, and I turn the blower fan to the off position, which also turns off the a/c as well, I keep getting air coming out of the vents at high speed. I have to press the re-circulation button to stop the outside air from coming in. Is this normal? Because on my last car, if I turned off the blower, there would be no outside air coming only when the blower was turned on. Also, when the blower is completely off and the air is still venting from the outside, there is no way to control the flow, it's coming a full speed especially on the highway.

its normal. wind will still come into the airbox through the grates under your window wipers, and continue on through the pipes into your car.

Its normal. All modern cars are designed for ventilation like this.

Agreed, the "off" simply means the fan is turned off, but the pathway is open to allow outside air to enter when the car passively when in motion.

Thanks guys for the quick replies. The caravan i just traded in actually turned everything off when the fan was turned off, it even turned off the ventilation that's why I was a bit confused. I guess I just have to press recirculate button if i don't want the air to ventilate. Thanks.

your caravan didnt turn off anything more than your rogue. it simply closed the flap used for recirculate.
