Venting-roommate situation (long)

i just need to vent! so if u dont feel like readin this, no problem

i have had roommates before, but they never worked out well, so i have been living alone for a while now, but currently moved in with a japanese girl who is 26 (mature) and whom i have been friends with for 2 years, so it wasnt someone i didnt know like my previous roommates.

we moved in in June, and it has been great so far, but there is this one tiny problem: her boyfriend

his is a Russian international student, 25 years old, Computer Science major

she's been dating him for 5 months, and when she speaks of him, she is always like "oh he is so smart" so i thought he is really that smart. no

i had this tiny computer problem a few months ago, where my very old desktop (only 3 years old) was giving me trouble getting on the internet (cable), so before i went out, i asked if he mind looking into it for me, he said no.

i came back, roommate told me that he is a shy person so he didnt want to tell me to my face, and his exact words are "your computer is a piece of sh*t, get a new one" even he said that, i was ok with it coz i thought my pc was really crappy, but then i sat down and starting to mess with it, and to my surprise, i fixed my own piece of crap!! and it ran even faster and better then my roommate's SONY pc that he loves so much.

and then one time, i unplugged the router and cable...etc coz there was no connection and i needed to use the net for my project that i had to turn in the next day, and she wasnt home yet, so i couldnt wait. well his exact words were "you messed up her computer, next time the net is down call COX, dont mess with anything" and appearently he spent hours resetting the router, and they blamed that on me, which i thought was stupid, and calling COX to say what? "oh yea i think my router is messed up" ehhe.

and on top of that, he is over at my apartment 5-6 days out of a week, i mean WTF? he lives alone, so cant she go over there? of course i had brought that up, but every time she would just say "i dont like going there coz it's very messy and dirty" and all i hear from her all the time is "ew...i wont go there when it's not clean, i dont wanna bring him here either coz he messes up everything" and "oh he sucks, he alwasy hurts my feelings" and "i think i need a new guy, i dont even know why i like him" and "i need a new boyfriend, but he is a very smart guy who helps me with my homework" and "he doesnt know how to treat me well, he pisses me off all the time" and that goes on and on

so my venting here is that why i dont like women in general, they whine and whine and whine about their boyfriends and never freaking do something about it, and she does not even love him, and he doesnt love her either, and i heard he isnt even good in bed, then WTF???

alright, I just dont understand, can i have a normal roommate?

edit: he doesnt have a car, so he is depending on her, but he had said before that in Russia, women are the taxi drivers becoz the guys always get drunk and the women need to take care of the men.

so this guy has no friends coz his ppl skill sucks real bad, his english isnt even that good, speaks with a huge almost not understandable accent, not that great looking, not rich, cant drive, thinks he is so smart, insensitive to women's feelings, insensitive with anyone's feelings period. if u ask me, he is the last guy on earth that i'd date!

no offense, but I've found women to be completely stupid when it comes to men most of the time, they seem to pick the worst, which makes me wonder why I'm single.

I don't get the whole "I don't wanna be alone" thing, I personally have no problem with being alone, it's kinda fun really, most girls I've met have always been way to clingy anyway, the ones that aren't usually seem apathetic though, it's just one big headache, I think we should all just be Shaolin monks.

WAHAHAHA i wish, my bf is not as tall as this dude, this dude is pretty big, tall.. and there is no point beating him up though. and he is not the typical nerdy kind either. i mean granted he is smart coz he doesnt study and still gets good grades, but he is not a common sense, ppl person at all, i guess that's why he is a Com sci major!

yes he really doesnt know what the hell he is doing with the computers, at least to me he doesnt, he reformatted her hard drive to where it's worse than before, i told her she needs two harddrive to store things since she download songs and all that crap, and they use up lots of space and cause the comp to be slow!!!!! but no, she is like "oh he knows what to do" and came back the pc running worse than before! LOL!!! and my dad is a super computer genius (really) and he thinks this guys is stupid, ehhe... (yes i am a daddy's girl) but though, his parents are both programmers, so i dont know, he might be good at programming!!!

I had a roomate who had his gf over 24/7 who was dumb as a brick and wasted enough power for 3 people(not kidding). I just ended up moving out. That was just my way of dealing with bad roomates. well he already has, or not, he only says things that he wanna say to me to her, and she tells me what he said coz he is a pu**y to say it to me face to face!

i cant move out the lease is not up till like 2004, we have a 15 month lease! sucks! and she is a great roommate but without him though!

Have you talked to her about him? Remember that place is just as much yours as it is hers. Nobody deserves to feel uncomfortable in their own "home." If you really feel that angry at him just tell him he isn't welcome over anymore. He isn't on the lease. Or if your roomate is that unhappy with him maybe she shouldn't be with him. If she wont give him up, then she shouldn't make you suffer as well.

Man, you know height don't matter in a fight especially with us asian folks. Take a look at Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and that guy from K1 Championship for example. They're all short but they're bad as *****. I guess short people just got a lot of heart.

As for the computer thing, my eldest brother is the same way. He got all his certificates, knows C+, VB, & database programming and he's been making big bucks as a network manager for about 5 years now. However, when it comes to hardware, home networking, and all other simple/common sense stuff he just doesn't know what to do. Everytime I try to correct him he gets mad and tells me that he works on computers for a living... Well, apparently he sucks at it. When he does ask me what to do, I just ask him how he got all those certificates

Anyway, maybe you should give him a little asian treatment next time he insults you? Call him a FOB :ylsuper and have him figure out what it means. He'll prolly feel a little insecure around you when he finds out what it stands for.

The guy is an unhappy egotistical loser. For some reason, every immigrant Russian I've met seems to have a chip on their shoulder. There could be numerous reasons for his personality traits, those aren't your problem. Don't let him touch your computer, from what you described his actions as he doens't sound like he is very knowledgeable, and is more in the effort to look like he knows what he's doing than actually doing something and being modest about it.

Your roommate depending how how 'Japanese' she is knows that she can get something out of this guy like the homework help and computer stuff. From what you said she said, she obviously isnt happy with this guy. A lot of fobby Japanese girls will stick with a guy no matter what even if the guy is a total jerk. She doesn't sound too intelligent herself or at least confident about herself considering she complains about him but stays with...

Most importantly, you have a right to say something to your roomate about him being there. You were there first according to what you said and therefore you can ask her to stop inviting him over. If she doesn't do so, then you have to decide if finding a new roommate is right for you.

damn, hkc, sorry to hear about your whiny-roommate. that also annoys me a LOT about females. hell, i used to be like that myself when i was with my ex-bf last year. but after months of going back and forth about it, i finally got the nerve to break up with him. best choice i've made so far. i have only two female friends, and neither of them are very close. my friends almost always tend to be males, because they're not petty, they have the same interests as i do, are candid (but not to the extent where it's stuff i don't want to know) and they don't whine. at least, not as much.

talk some sense into your dumb roomate. you'll all be happier. i just hope that russian guy ain't psycho if she breaks up with him

and she is actually the one who keeps telling me how much of a bad bf he is and such, and she doesnt even consider their relationship a relationship, but yet, she is still with him and whines every single day of how much he is not worth it, or that she needs a new guy.

i think his problem is that he has so much confidence in front of her, not us, and he makes her think that he is so smart, so she will stick with him.

since he never talks to ppl face to face really, that no one can insult him enough for my roommate to see just how much of a pu55y he really is.
