I woke up this morning and my mom told me she accidently backed into my 240 this morning. WTF?!?!? The passenger side turn signal is shaterred and front bumper is all ****ed up. God I'm pissed. She was laughing about it too. Its a good thing I wasnt wearing a belt. If we ever take it into a body shop I'm gonna get the whole damn thing repainted. Moms shouldnt drive.

the avg. woman cannot drive. Period. Barring the occasional roadracer/autox chicks, never seen a drifter chick in person but I hear they exist. My mom can't drive, my sister can't drive, the cute girls next door burn the clutch more and more everyday...

This would be a good time to tell mom that the whole front end needs to be specially ordered from Jspec.com or afterdark, and it costs 2500 not painted, and another 1k to paint. (see where I'm going with this? s15 conversion because moms can't drive!)

I'm sure many of us had much more embarrassing experiences on the road. Give mom a break. I'm sure she feels stupid about it already. Accidents happen...noone is perfect. Including you.

Bah, give her a break, she's your mom. That does suck though, but at least she pays to paint it :)!

as long as she fixes it, it's your mom, i hope she would!

generalities aside, instant-rice:my mom knows how to drive, and she's the average woman. i'm not worried about the foot of space between our two cars.i'm worried about my 16yr old sister though, she doesn't seem to have it in the genes, but she hasn't been practicing much either.

Nobody in my family can drive except my dad and me. My sister can't park next to a curb and my mom doesn't even know how to stop at a stop sign and she hits the brakes abruptly while driving.

proof of our country's rigorous driver education program. you are taught to drive by either your parents/someone you know/ or some so-called 'instructor' at your school or dmv

autocrossing should be part of the driver education process. instructors should be actual race-car drivers, who are there to let you get to know your vehicle, and to learn it's characteristics, as well as to teach the basics.

but nooooOOoo... that might actually make people drive well!

pirate rant of the evening(takes a bow)

oh my god yes. The only reason my dad and I are competent drivers are 1.)My dad used to road race a LOT, he went through about 20 some odd cars, all of them sports cars ranging from japanese compact to domestic boats to european sedans. And I started out with an MR2 and Now am on an SR20DET powered 240sx and I do a lot of road racing, I'm starting up Auto-x soon. I would've before but i heard that there was an 18 year old age limit and then I was told that they don't care/check. 2.) Both my dad and I drive a lot and care for our cars, whilst my mom and sister just look for whatever car is available.

We need to throw auto-x and hazard driving in to the driving education system.

my mom can't drive either, she hits the brakes at the last possible secoand and everytime I say brake earlier she says why. I park in the driveway now in back of my mom because when i park in the street my windows get broke and stuff gets stolen. I rather have my mom back into my car and have insurance pay for it. Also my 17 year old sister came close to hitting a tree about 10 yards from our driveway backing out of the garage. I'm waiting for her to hit my car i need new paint job and some of the dings taken out. Nick

Hmmmm.

She's not representative of ALL females, but I'd put my wife's driving skills up against most anyone posting in this thread (except Skydragoness).

She's a freakin' artist on a road course... And most women that receive a little bit of training excel at it - They learn much quicker than men, BTW. No stupid macho s*** to overcome, and they have less bad habits to "unlearn".

Give mom a break. She's paying you back for being a pain in the a$$ for all these years.

You guys with garages have it gooood. I don't even get driveway space. I have to park on the street every day. Even worse, I live down the street from the local high school so i got teen drivers going by my car all the time. That is actually the biggest reason I got an alarm. No hit-and-runs on my shizz.;)

Ha, yeah, I've got to park in the street because my parents won't sell the stupid 89 accord that has already had an engine transplant because the last one blew a rod THROUGH the freaking block. *shakes head* And then there is a Subaru Xt-6 in the garage that has a destroyed transmission, but runs PERFECTLY fine. *sigh* So I'm the ONLY car in the street, luckily it's across the street from an elementary school so I'll be okay for now.

Man, I think if I found a half-way decent looking girl that could drive as good or better than me, I would marry her on the spot, no questions asked...
