yes, when you put it on the windshield, the AC kicks on automatically. has anyone flushed the fluid out and did a good 50/50 for 60/40 mixture to see if that helps? since i only hear complain from people in Canada - i think its something that the dealers are doing prior to PDI (pre-delivery inspection)Qashqai wrote:As we discussed earlier, the perfromance of the heater is low. It barely heats the inside of the car. I finally have a solution. Since the car is taking cold air from outside, heating it is not easy for the radiator. I turned on the circulation and it heats and circulates the already warmed air inside the car. You may say: "so smart, did you really discovered that now?" Well I already know this could be a solution but I can't constantly use the circulation, because the windshield and side glasses are all covered with fog after using it for five minutes! When I rotate the ventilation control dial to windshield it automatically turns off the circulation. I really hate the climate control system of this car. On the other hand, when I turn the dial to windshiled, did AC turned on? because when I adjust it to foot or head, the AC light comes on.
thats a good question/idea. to be honest im not sure as i have never installed a block heater. but i certainly feel that since all Canadians are complaining that their heater is not working well, its the coolant to water ratio in the engine coolant system. i really would try and flush it and put 50/50 or 60(water)/50(coolant) and see how you like it.Qashqai wrote:ImStricken, I think I have a theory...do you know if they have to flush the engine coolant to install the engine block heater. It is connected to the cooling system of the engine. And the block heaters (which are standard for all the trims of Rogue in Canada) is manufactured by a Canadian company (Tempro, if I recall right). So my theory is, after the Rogues came from the plant in Japan, somewhere in Canada they flush the coolant, install the block heater and refill the coolant with a certain adjustment (like more coolant, less water)...
That may be part of it, but I am fairly certain the main reason the AC compressor kicks on when the selector is set to defrost is to ensure the compressor stays lubricated during the winter months, when the AC is not being used.takeshi wrote:How is heating with recirculation and the AC on? The reason a lot of cars turn on the AC with the front windshield/defrost setting is to remove humidity from the air.
