Ok, I am just wondering if you have a vented hood and then it starts to rain. What happens then? I mean you got water pouring on your engine. Of course I am talking about when its parked.

you never washed your engine before? a little water won't do anything. Water onto sensitive parts will cause problems if they're not sealed well, like the distributor cap. For electrical connections you can just buy some dielectric grease and put that in between all the connectors and moisture will never be a problem.

Water will only hurt electric stuff. when it rains, you still get water in the engine bay. The hood shouldnt be that bad for the car as far as getting water inside.

by the way, did anyone see the Signal auto 180sx twins with the hoods like that with intercoolers mounted by the scoop. cant even see it. looked really cool cause when i do my swap in a few years, i want it to look as unintimidating as possible. and if the IC is under the hood like that, you woudlnt even know the car is turbod

I guess I could rig something up to put in front of it while I am not using the car.

Those Signal Auto cooling system setups are SWEEEET.

They have a huge scoop, with ducting that goes from the front bumper, up to the front of the motor, where the intercooler is, then the hot air leaves though the vent in the hood, but then, also, on the bottom of the duct, the radiator is mounted at an extreme angle with puller fans, which pull the air out of the duct down and under the car. Gotta be the most efficient setup I've ever seen.

Yeah. the article didnt show it that much, just focused on the power, and basic tuning stuff along with the paint job. I'd like to get up close and see how everything is put in there, it is quite impressive.

It's not just the water you need to be thinking about, vents are additional places for dust to enter.

Most of the dust is going to come in when you're moving, as that's when the dust gets stirred up most. So I'm not sure what benefit it would be to rig something up.

then dont get a front mount, stock MKIV supra side mounts will take over 300hp, or you could get a aftermarket sidemount for a supra that are good for up to like 500hp.

Im going with a supra sidemount and maybe a CO2 IC cooler, to maintane that stock look.
