Ordered vent visors for my V today from a place on eBay.... Renova Auto Technique, Inc. (seller ID is renn-sport-accessories2007). Got the full 4 piece set for $34.95 including shipping. They are out of California.

Funny thing - sorta - it was a "Buy it Now" thing, so when I bought the set, they went away. A few hours later, I'm at Mom's and I check to see if they've put out another set of vent visors for the V. There they are ! BUT for $10.00 more !!! Mom ordered a set for her V.... even at $44.95 (incl shipping) that's still a great deal considering I called a Canada dealer this afternoon and they're selling the "Genuine Nissan" vent visors for $99.95CA (~$87 US).

I'm hoping they'll be in by Monday. If all is well (fit/finish) and it's not raining, I'll get them put on and post pics.

Vent Visors?

You don't see them often on the west coast, because either the climate is too dry (California) or people don't open their windows in the wet (WA/OR).

They provide a lip/cover over the outside of the window frame or track, which allows you to partially open the window for ventilation while it's raining, but not get wet inside the car.

They look similar to sunroof visors, but they go over the top of the side windows.

Yeah I tend to agree. To each their own I guess but I think vent visors make a car look tacky. That and doileys on the headrests.

Apparently this is an east coast/west coast thing. I was talking to Paula about this a few months back and apparently it is VERY common where she is, but very few cars here have them.

I'm the same way

Some of them do look funny though, they've got to be a nice fit and a nice contour.

I too am curious to see how the fitment and look is.

I just moved to the East Coast from the West and its very true that next to nobody has these out in So Cal, but after spending some time here, I can see why these would be useful..

If a person smokes, which I do, these things are great to have, at least in this part of the country. We do get quite a bit of rain here (supposed to get 3" - 4" by the end of the weekend) and the vent visors are almost a necessity. With the roof line of the V, whether a/c or heat, if the window is cracked a little for ventilation and it's raining outside..... it's also raining inside !

I'm hoping they'll be here tomorrow and there will be a break in the rain where I can put them on. I'm too am extremely anxious about whether or not they'll fit properly - if not, I'll be very disappointed (and send them back).

Note: I guess it's just a personal preference about things like the vent visors. I've seen lots of mods on cars that you couldn't GIVE me.... and then others that I'd love to have. Just remember "tacky is in the eye of the beholder" !

I agree with you. And I can see that they are probably a very practical thing to have. We get a ton of rain here too and the V fogs up like a bathroom mirror in a sauna. I would probably love having them...just not looking at them.

P.S. Quit smoking. Someone told me once that it's supposed to be bad for you.

Now that you have had the visors for 8 months or so and over the winter months.....how have they help up quality wise? Any issues?

I too am looking for a set as i love to have the window cracked open but hate that I get rained on (or the wipers sweep those little drips in)!!!

Thanks for your advise!

If you do get the visors try and get the ones that are made with the thin edge that fits up in the window channel. I had some of my truck from weathertech.com and they lasted for years and did not effect the window operation.

You don't have to worry about them coming unglued like the ones that fit on with double sided tape. Also them have a tighter profile and don't stick how so much when looking at them fyom the rear of the car.

They are not yet available at I have been checking to see if the cargo area cover is available yet. They are suppose to email me when things start becoming available on their site.

PS-I just checked their site and it show the front set is available. I don't know why is doesn't show both sets. Might have to call them for an explanation.

It is funny you mention weathertech. I ordered a set for my wife's kia sedona and didn't like the way they fit in the window channel. I have the type that stick on to the door on my truck and they work fine.

I am glad to see the versa has an option for a set that go on the outside.

And yes they might be tacky but here in the North East it rains often and can be cold and damp in the morning and hot and dry in the evening.

So the ability to leave your windows cracked and not worry about water getting in helps a great deal.
