My girlfriends 06 sentra is in need of it's 5th vent control valve. It's getting beyond nuts. I know Nissans been having issues since @ least 1997 when they did a recall.

I'd like to do a poll of how many people/ times they have had them replaced. I think it would be a good start towards a recall.

Anyone have any ideas on how I should do it and where it should be posted?

Thanx,
Brian.

There was a newer valve that seemed to work well when I was with Nissan. The old part # was 14935-AM60B. The new one is part # 14935-JF00A. It doesn't sound like the newer style valve will help you though after going through 5. Do you know what killed the others? Water? Dirt/dust? If those were not the causes I'd be checking the resistance of the wires in that circuit and see what kind of reference voltage is going to the valve, it should be 5v.

I'm not sure the cause of the failure. It seemed to happen every spring. We live in an area with 100 or so inches of snow and salt so I bet that does not help. They just keep sticking open. I myself have not touched one on her car since they have all been warrantied.
