I have a few questions about the intake process

1. could someone please give an in depth description of a velocity stack? I dont understand what makes it so differnent, or what the number gains would be, or even what it would replace.

2. I have been looking at a ducted nose panel on Z1. This would let in more air, but how much of an increase would there really be? and what about when it rains? would I have to use a K & N filter and oil it so the water doesnt get in?

3. What is the difference between a BOV and a Waste gate? would it be beneficial to have both or do they accomplish the same thing?
wich one makes the cool sound?

4. would there be any gains to heat shielding the intake pipes?

Increase in what? An increase in the amount of air that would flow into your engine bay? I have no idea.

As long as you don't go driving through giant puddles you'll be fine, especially with the stock airbox.

BOV lets the extra air out on intake side when let out of throttle.... and would be (i geuss) the sound your looking for.

Right. Wastegates prevent the turbos from spooling too fast. Whenever a certain boost level is reached, the wastegate opens up and bypasses the turbo - regardless of throttle position. That is the difference between BOV and wastegates. BOVs are used to release boost pressure when the throttle plates are closed.

Yeah, I was about to say...a recirc and a BOV are the same thing, but a wastegate serves a completely different purpose.

Haha could you get your s*** together and buy my damn car already? You and Dave should get together and split up the parts. I'm gonna put it back together again over winter break and put it on ebay if I can't get rid of it.
