Vehicle Security Systems....options?

My dads frontier got broken into last night, fortunately they just took change and didnt break anything, but all his stuff was scattered around...those pricks. My qx4 is parked right next to his every night, Im worried mine may be next as I have a GPS mount in there (surprising how they didnt try mine) I take my valuable stuff out every night, and dont have an aftermarket system, not even change....but if i WERE to invest in an alarm system or something, what are your opinions? i wouldnt mind a remote starter/alarm combo, but ive had bad experiences, anybody know GOOD installers in the GTA? show off what you got installed im curious

btw they like picking on us i guess cuz 2 nights ago there was SOME damage to his rubber stripping around the window, but they didnt make it in, last night i guess he left his door unlocked by mistake.
