I'm gonna give you fellas a little peace and quiet for a while. Headed out to Vegas tomorrow. If I hit it big, I will be joining the GT-Rclub.com bunch. :naughty: Either that or have the prettiest, fastest Z in town.

:woot:

I think I might go steal Mike Tyson's tiger and take him to the LSU game with me. :chuckle:

No, flying, but I sure would love to have it out there. All those long straight roads with no trees or deer. I could have a blast.

Will try to get some pics. :)

Don't post any pics until you're home and, well, sober, Becki. Remember, what happens in Vegas....

You guys could look up old Tollboothwilley while you're out there. PM if you need a phone number.

^^^ Nope, my fantasy, I would have used the time machine to get back to the future....where there would be a new GT-R sitting in my 12 car garage, among others... :chuckle:

Hey guys! I'm back. Didn't really take many pics. When I get some time I'll post some up. Headed to Dallas tomorrow for the LSU/Oregon game if we have any players left that aren't in prison.

You aren't going to believe this CRAP!!! Had a perfect trip. Our host put us up in a penthouse suite (don't know why...we aren't that big of gamblers). Great food, lots of intoxication and we were actually going to leave Vegas about $1300 ahead till some A-Hole robbed us.

I went up to the room about 1 and when I got there the door was cracked open. I was startled so I hollered for David. When I could hear him snoring, I realized that he was in the room and I figured he had been intoxicated and just left the door cracked. I got in the bed and he got up to go to the bathroom and I heard him yell at me what had I done with his money. He thought I had hid it from him as a joke. When I told him that the door was cracked when I got up there we realized what had happened.       I don't know if he didn't close the door all the way and someone followed him or if someone that works at the hotel with a key got in. It was really strange because his Rolex and iPhone were right there too and they didn't touch those. Oh well, we just have to see if the casino cops can find anything out. I'm sure not. We can kiss that $2300 goodbye.

We live in a Hell-Hole like Memphis and this year we have been robbed in Dallas and Vegas. We are really going to be changing a lot of our traveling habits. Guys...put your crap in the safe! Thank goodness our wallets and my new Louis was in the safe. From now on anything I have of value will be locked up unless I'm using it.

That's awful, and scary. I'd guess they didn't take the iPhone or Rolex because they much more traceable than money.

Planet Hollywood. Always loved it there and always done pretty good. Security sucks. You should have to use a key to get up on the elevators. I still think it was an inside job. The police told us that the economy in Vegas is horrible and the thefts are really up.

i will keep that in mind... i fly out tomorrow...

Encore has card access/id check to get on the elevator, so that gives me some peace of mind. but just based on your story i will be using the safe this time at encore. :yesnod

im sorry that happened, but your story will help me and other people, if that puts any kind of a positive spin on your story...

What did you have stolen? In this economy seems like there are a lot more people willing to compromise their ethics...sad but true

For those planning on hitting Vegas this year, a few of the members and staffers will be there for SEMA in early November. I'll be there as well but not for SEMA as I have a work conference to attend.

Oh, sure, the storage guys get to go to Vegas. Us OS types are lucky to get invited to a local trade show with free swag.

I could have gone to VM world if I wanted which seems to have freebies. I chose NetApp certs this year instead. May do VMware next year or get my Symantec certs again since they expired this year.

I'd definitely recommend staying on top of VMware. I'm too close to retirement for anyone to pay for new certifications (or even to re-up my RH and Oracle certs), but if there was one I could pursue, it would be ESX and vSphere. You know your situation best, so I'm sure you're making good choices.

I would primarily work with VMware from a hardware perspective and not a management/configuration nor use perspective. Hardware, storage, backup, archive, DR. End to End. The most I would go for is a VCP although I do far more from a storage perspective than I ever would from a VM perspective. It's not that high on my list and not having it won't impact me from a salary perspective either. I'm in a good position :)
