Im looking into a VE30DE for my hardbody project because of the compact size and power potential. But I want to know if a VG30E tranny will work behind it.. Im pretty sure it bolts up from my research, but as far as whether or not the starter and flywheel will work. First off, does the starter bolt to the block or tranny on the VG? Secondly, will the flywheels of the VE and VG30E interchange?

Yes, the VG30E tranny will bolt up to the DE. Starter bolts to tranny just as before. Not sure of the Flywheels, you can find lots of stuff here:
