Normally, when the car is slipping (like in rain!), the "SLIP" light comes on on the dashboard. If you have the VDC off, then I suspect that what you see above is the normal result. But, this is a SWAG, since I have never seen it on my car.GNR4ALL wrote:Hey everyone,I was driving yesterday in the rain on the highway and i dont know what happened but all the sudden the info screen on my car went black with a hazard sign that said vdc, and on the guages the "vdc off" light went on. It went on for about ten minutes. I turned of the car and turned it back on and it went away. Does anyone know what this is? Is this something i should be worried about?Thanx

Has anyone ever seen there lcd screen (where the climate control and stereo displays are) go black and the ony thing it says is VDC in big letters with a hazard sign? an at the same time the vdc light by the speedometer and the slip light both stay on (i had vdc on when this happened and it went off)???

hrmmm... usually the VDC OFF light and SLIP light comes on when the brake pads are low or if the pads are low and brake fluid is low as well...GNR4ALL wrote:brakes are 1 month old and fluid is at normal level
maybe an abs sensor or something...GNR4ALL wrote:Rotors were changed. I was driving in the rain switched lanes quick while going over a bump and all the lights went off and the lcd screen went black had the vdc in big letters
its still stored in your cars memory... all fault codes are stored until cleared with a consolt computer...GNR4ALL wrote:no, because after i restarted my car twice it went away
Take it in to the dealer and have them look at it!! They need to read the codes and see what the system reported.robman66 wrote:Last night I was backing out of the driveway, put it in drive, and the VDC OFF light came on as well as the SLIP light. Service Engine Soon light came as too. Acceleration was terrible. I stopped, turned the car off. I restarted and the VDC OFF light or the SLIP light did not come back on. Acceleration was back to normal. The Service Engine Soon light is still on though. Will it reset itself, or does the dealer have to do it? Or can anyone with an OBDII reader reset it?
This was on an '06 M45 Sport.Thanks.
