First - I did a search on this and yes I found a few somewhat helpful posts, however...

Recently the VDC and SLIP lights have come on and stayed on while driving on dry ground. Once when I accelerated hard and the other after hitting a small bump in the road.

If I turn the car off and start it again they lights go off and stay off. This has happened three times that I can remember.

I can see if this happens during breaking if the pads/fluid are down, and they very well could be. But from acceleration. Doesn't make sense to me.

Any thoughts.

Take it to a dealer so they can hook up the Nissan Consult and do a road test to see what the problem (Code(s)) are.

Well believe it or not it is your break pads worn. It does it when you accelerate or hit the bump because the fluid level is low and when it waves it triggers the sensor. You can fill it with break fluid and get ready to get a set of break pads and possibly rotors too.

I had the same issue last month and with the help of the forums here came to the conclusion it was the brake pads being worn. The dealer confirmed it, and since the replacement all was well. I would caution you from just adding brake fluid to make the light go away.... I know many people do this, but what you have to keep in mind is that the system was designed on purpose to light up and notify us of a worn pad. If u keep driving on it u will screw up the rotor. A good dealer will charge u around 299 per axle (two pads)

Since you mentioned that it only occurs on acceleration, I thought I would pop in any offer up my measly suggestion. Those lights are also known to come on because of low brake fluid. When you said that it occurs on acceleration I thought that it may be because the brake fluid in the reservoir is sloshing around, triggering the lights to illuminate.

Take a glance at your brake fluid reservoir and see if the fluid is low. It could be what is causing your issue. Best of luck!

Dealer did mine, 4 wheel pads and cut all four rotors at 85k miles and charged $530.00

I do not let anyone but the dealer touch my vehicle. Yes they may charge a little more but I get to drive a brand new loaner, enjoy some eats and the job is done right.
