VDC/SLIP icons light up when i press the gas down hard

these buttons light up after i drive a little and then hit on the gas peddle hard...the car would drive for a little and then stall and the buttons light up on the dashboard. did anybody else have this same problem? what did you do to fix it? When i restart the car they go away and then come back again after pressing on the gas again. Also sometimes the car will not start. I would turn the key inside the ignition and it will not budge...i hear a clicking noise and thats it...after a bunch of attempts it finally starts. HOW CAN I FIX THIS? infiniti is really starting to bug me.

If you're pressing the gas really hard - it sounds like the VDC is working. As in, you are spinning the tires and the car is counteracting that. Have you tried using the cancel switch for the VDC? You need to read the owner's manual to see how it operates... if you don't have a paper copy you can get a free one at http://www.infinititechinfo.com

The starting issue sounds a lot like another post here about an '02 with a bad starter solenoid. The dealership charged him about $750 to replace the starter if I remember correctly. If you're handy, you might try replacing just the solenoid, which is much cheaper. Depends on the value of your time, or how much you're paying for labor if you're having someone do it (maybe twice).

the other day i was just idling in my car while it was on and about 5 minutes into sitting the car just displayed the VDC OFF and the SLIP on the dashboard...what can it be? i didnt even move the car.
