Welcome to NICO.

VDC Off/Slip/Brake is the usual combination and means that your brake fluid is low. Top it off and check for both leaks and the condition of your brake pads and rotors.

The fact that you mentioned the Check Engine Light makes me wonder though. Did you turn VDC off and do burn-outs/drift?

If so, turing the car off, then on again will usually get rid of the VDC Off/Slip, the Check Engine Light will need to go off on its own OR you'll need to have it erased via an OBD-II unit.

Welcome! I'm on the south side of ATL...around Hampton. Let us know if you have any other questions!

As for the lights, you can try to reset the ECU (check out the G-series FAQ, link in my sig, for the procedures). However, if it comes back you have a problem that should be looked at by a dealer.

Hello. Thanks for your advise. It was bad news from the dealer that my gas paddle assembly sensor was out. cost $500 over to replace it. I do not understand why this parts will go wrong. The dealer said that was all men made parts. Very good excuses...

The SAME thing just happened to me yesterday. I have an '04 G35X. Just when I started the car in the morning to go to work, all three lights come on. The first thing I did was turn the car back off again and turned it back on about 1 minute later. The VDC and SLIP lights went off but the SERVICE ENGINE light stayed on. The first reaction was that the gas cap was not on tight enough since I had filled up the night before. But it was tight. It happened to be that I had an appointment at the dealer for an oil change, so I had them look at this problem too.

The other thing that I was noticing is that the car was getting a bit sluggish on acceleration, going between 2nd and 3rd gears. This was happening over the last month or so. It would almost seem like the "snow" switch was on, but it never was.

It turned out to be a grounding wire fault somewhere between the ECU, the battery, or somewhere under the dash. What they did was they tightened down the ground wires to the ECU, the battery and under the dash, and it solved the problem. The BIG thing was that it took them about 4 hours to do this. But, it resolved both problems. Now the car is acting normally again.
