Did you place the air filter on correctly? I don't believe this is related, but just a question...

When those lights all come on at the same time, it generally means that there is a problem with the VDC system in the car is malfunctioning - sometimes it needs brake fluid, but in this instance, it would appear something more is happening. Do you know how to pull the OBDII code for the check engine light?

If it's related to the air filter, then the search function wouldn't have helped him.

In the time it took you to do this, you could have provided a useful answer.

pull the code... go to checker, autozone or an equivalent auto parts store. They have a OBDII reader you can use if you don't have one.

Welcome to NICO

Check the electrical connector on the MAF. If it looks like it is connected, remove it and reinsert it securely.

I forgot to reconnect it after changing my air filter and the light came on.It will eventually go out by itself within 200 miles. The last time my light came on my gas cap was not on tight. After tightening it I started & restarted my G 5 times within a short time and the light went out.

If everything checkes out the ECU will in many cases eventually turn off a warning light.

You may be on to something, but I think there's more to it. MAF fail safe usually includes max rpm limitation, retarded timing and rich AFR. The VDC, ABS, and SLIP lights indicate an ABS/VDC failure.

Kind of odd that both would come on at the same time.

And make those arrows straighter next time Suby! Sheesh...

As far as the OP, I had similar symptoms after an oil change once. Did the same stuff as I drove away. Once I took it back we saw it was just something they hadn't re-connected completely. Double-check and make sure everything looks like it has a 'home' and nothing is laying around unconnected. Sorry I can't be more specific.

+1

I skimmed over the OP's post and the MAF was the first thing that came to mind. It should be a simple fix

+2 on themaf sensor.

Op do you have the oem filter or aftermarket. Did you touch the maf sensor? Did you have to oil it?

Most likely dirty maf or not correctly placed maf.

I beleive a loose connector is the problem here. Find the connector and your problem is over. Next time avoid doing too many things on this car yourself---it is a temperamental car that requires a certain type of temparament to work on. Honestly, I don't have that temperament, and so I let my Tech do all the work. He has never done work twice on my car--always done right the first time. All i do is check for oil level---thats it! I cannot bear to know that I am the cause of an array of electronic madness on the car. There are to many sensors on the car. The car can even detect a person's breath with all those sensors (just kidding).

oh, i make plenty of mistakes along the way, but i prefer to take some risks to gain reward.Paying to have bolts turned by someone else is a foreign idea to me.

I would generally agree based on that philosophy. Er......I think I still want my Tech turn those bolts.

I love working on my car. I hate letting others touch it now.
