Hi guys

Today I decided to take my radio out temporarily to go and see if I could debug some audio issues I'm having in my Fuga 2006 250GT and everything went smoothly until I took it out for a spin afterwards. I don't know how or why but the car suddenly is acting up after it being removed, I've yet to go and get an OBD2 scanner so I can get the proper codes but does anyone have any reason why it might be doing this? It's otherwise never had any issues whatsoever.

Cheers

The ECU probably communicates through the audio system (as well as the HVAC and gauge cluster). Removing any one of them will cause issues.

Reconnect it and report back.

I reconnected it already, would you like me to unplug it again to replug it in?

Did the problem go away? If not, I'd be concerned that maybe a ground wire was cut or disconnected.

Got a scanner and was able to pull the code, it's (P0345)
I tried resetting the ECU but the code pulled up again, I'm assuming it's to do with low voltage hopefully otherwise maybe the sensor is faulty, I'll try popping the battery on charge and see how it goes tomorrow.

No luck with a decent charge, I'm stumped for options, I can only imagine that the sensor somehow got damaged in the removal of my radio somehow?

I might try to check the fuses on the off chance they somehow blown

P0345 is a sensor code. Nominally it's the bank2 cam sensor on an '06 VQ, but there's also a good probability it's the crank sensor acting up and the ECM incorrectly blaming the cam. It's very unlikely pulling the radio would cause any engine sensor to have a problem, so you're probably looking at a bad coincidence.

So do you think I should try sourcing replacement crank sensor + camshaft sensor(if the crank sensor isn't the culprit) and see how I go from there?

Are there any good suppliers of sensors around or anywhere I should search in particular, I noticed in Ali that there's some spare sensors but I've heard people having bad experiences with cheap chinese sensors.

My engine is a VQ25DE (Right hand drive)

Yah, I don't recommend going cheap-o on CKP or CMP sensors, stick with OEM. NissanPartsDeal is the best source here in the US, but they won't have a RHD vehicle in the domestic database so you'll need to already know the needed p/n's.

Alright, I'll see what I can do, I might try to remove the sensors to see if I can get a p/n to reference and also so I know what the part looks like.

Is there a guide on the location of the sensors for the VQ25DE on the forum, I can't say I've been able to find anything so far.

Thanks for the help by the way, I appreciate it

You're most welcome. I'd think you could hit the ESM for a domestic G25, the sensors will likely be in similar or identical locations. Chances are there are no p/n's on the parts, but a Nissan dealer should be able to get the numbers out of Japan by contacting Nissan DPC.

Quick update

Ended up sourcing a replacement Crankshaft sensor and replaced it, the engine seemed to run even smoother, but quickly the error code returned a few days after, I assume it may be the camshaft sensor, looks like I'll be removing my intake manifold to get to it unfortunately.
