Quick question - have any of the members here ever had a timed 1/4 mile with the VDC on and then one with it off? Does it really make a difference if you have it off or on as far as acceleration is concerned?

I'm pretty sure Jeff (Gwoods) did... there was a difference.

Beancooker did too. I think it was something like .3 second difference? Somewhere around half a second IIRC.

I ran my car and pulled off a 14.4 @97.4 MPH. When I tried it with the VDC turned on, I ran a 15.39 @90.2 MPHEvery time that I would start to spin, it would apply the brakes to the slipping tires, and back off the throttle.

I noticed this as well.. But just in regular driving!

I keep it off if it is dry out

I hate the VDC even when I turn it off and want to have fun the slip light still blinks and the brakes are still applied....I wish this was an option and not a standard feature.

I think something is wrong with your VDC. I can spin donuts, lay down black strips, burn out in the burnout box at the dragstrip etc, when it is off. It acts like an old 70's Chevy RWD with LSD.

Never drag with VDC on. Power break to about 2500 rpm and release the brake when it hits green and you will be fine.

The difference with me was 14.8 to 14.4 for having it on and having it off.

I need to throw these headers on and see if i can break into the 13's. Specially with my fan conversion.

Have you tried this since installing the wires? My VDC seems a little more tame than before hehehe. It will still kick in, but seems to allow a little more spin lol.

VDC and the track don't mix!!!
