I've got a 03 manual 350z and my VDC off light and slip light keep coming on I've cleared the ecu all my fluids are at the proper levels and my front breaks are good but i did change from the 18 inch rims with the whole pressure monitoring sys to a newer set of 17 inch rims without the tire sensors

So I was wondering if anyone knew of anything else I should try to do before taking it to the dealership because they said it would be $100 just to run a diagnostic

What tires do you have. The reason is sometimes if you dont have the "standard" diameter for the car then the slip and VDC thinks your tires are going faster than they are calculating thus putting the lights on and off.

speaking of lights...

and this is completely off topic...

but is there a way to get your overhead lights on the interior to come on when you open the door?

Mine don't come on, and it can be a pain sometimes.

there is a button you slide over on the top of the lights by that little compartment for your sunglasses.

I thought when VDC and slip lights come on it is an indicator that you need new brake pads?

Thought I saw that here somewhere. Anyone confirm?

That is an indication. But there was also issues with brake switches causing this problem. How are the rear pads? Are you getting a brake light with the vdc/slip light?

Did you ever resolve this issue? I am having a similar problem with my G35. The VDC and Slip light come on. My tachometer also doesn't work when this happens, but the car rides just fine.

Mine turned out to be the brake (stop) light switch was becoming intermittent....dunno why I didn't deduce the connection to the VDC/SLIP light but fortunately I got to the dealership with the bugger acting up and as the code was apparently still in there and the VDC/SLIP light illuminated so I could show them the issue.
