Hello. Just this weekend i noticed the light for VDC Off and Slipping Indicator were turned on for my 2008 Nissan Rogue with 46,000 miles. It would disappear once i turn off then turn on the car. The lights do not turn on every time I drive. I bought my car to my local garage guy. He said the brakes in the rear are half used, but i have heard the squeaking coming from the rear brakes. He said the car is fine to drive.

Is it safe to drive the car while the lights are turned on?

Do i have to replace the rotor? The garage guy said it would cost around $200 for the rotor and brakes.

might be the ABS sensor. might be the vdc system. hard to tell. go take a few slow tight turns in either direction in a parking lot. see if that triggers anything. report back

Both lights have not come back on since the weekend. I have driven the car 60+ miles over various road condition. Did the problem disappear?

If you've got an Auto Zone, Advance Auto, and (I think) Napa, you can have them read your system for any errors, free of charge.

regular obd2 readers wont read vdc nor abs nor airbag warnings. those are proprietary.
