Hi! I have a question. I own a 2017 Altima SR and yesterday I took it to get a speed check (required for work). After the speed check was done, I got back in my car and noticed the VDC light is on (is that the car with 2 squiggly lines). Not sure why, maybe during the speed check (since I think they run the car on rollers) caused the light to come on?? I checked the brake fluid, seems good. Car runs well, brakes are normal. Is there a way to turn this off? I pressed the VDC off button- now both lights at on, pressed it again to turn it off but the other light is still on. Help? Thank you!!!

Did they run the car wheels-up? If they did, and if they didn't turn off the VDC during the test, the ABS probably threw codes. On rollers it's the same thing, if they spun the fronts without spinning the rears the ABS probably objected.

Hi! Thank you for your answer. Due to COVID I wasn’t allowed in the area while they were conducting the speed check. I think you are correct about not turning off the VDC during the test... and the ABS is out of whack. Now I no idea how to turn that light off or reset it. I’ve googled but I’m not getting the answers I am looking for. But thank you, what you said makes a lot of sense and I believe is what happened.

Needs to have the codes cleared with a scanner that can do ABS.

The light may clear itself after a few drive cycles but I would still get the codes read and cleared if possible.
