If so, let's make it this one!

Aside from playing with 4 wheeled toys I enjoy vaping.

I was a smoker for just barely the majority of my life (31 years old now). I quit a few months ago and started vaping. I love it! I'm not only in better physical shape, but I am smarter without cigs.

Let this thread be about vaping.
What is your device? How do you like it? Etc...

I started with an aspire cf sub ohm with an innokin tank. Shaft in the tank broke after a couple months of use. Picked up an arctic tank and it's definitely a step up.
I have an eleaf I stick 60w tc with the melo tank on the way. Looking forward to the side fill and being able to change batteries instead of waiting to charge. I don't have a charger yet, but I have a couple LG hg2 18650 batteries on the way I would like to find a good charger for.

Does vaping put the hookah bar places out of business?

I'm not a smoker or vaperer (?), and I actually don't mind some of the smells that come from those vape products. Some advice: According to a Harvard research study, there are certain flavors of vape liquid (not all of them) that contain a nasty chemical called "diacetyl" that could damage your 2nd/3rd favorite organ ( lungs) over time. So If you want to become Darth Vaper, please be careful to choose flavors that don't contain that chemical. Resume vaping.

not really. that would be like saying liquor stores and home brewing kits will put bars out of business. hookah bars are social gathering spots, vaping is personal.

i recently started myself to kick the cancer stick habit. i'm not into huge clouds, or carrying around some type of enormous rig. i'm just rocking an ego one. fits my need.

I quit smoking 3 years ago cold turkey by switching to vaping. I'm not into "rigs", not a vaping hobbyist. I use a Kangor Tek Mini with the bottom coils and whatever battery happens to be the most reasonably priced. A little confusing at first, but once you get used to its quirks, it's pretty routine. My wife and I both use the same juice ("Normal Tobacco") which does not contain the diacetyl. We are saving a ton af money too, since we were both pack-a-day smokers. We aim to quit vaping as well, ramping down the nicotine content little by little. It's made it soooo easy to quit smoking. And it is enjoyable and just as satisfying (if not more so).

Thats exactly what I tend to think vaping is best suited for.
However, with the younger crowd, (high school/middle school age) starting vaping in place of of cigarettes seems kinda silly- and still a waste of money, though not as bad. Cigarettes never struck me as something to try in the first place though...

I wonder if there will be an influx of dehydration in youths from the PG/VA vapor?

I totally agree. (Is this the first time we have agreed on something?) Deliberately addicting oneself to nicotine or any substance for that matter is a questionable practice. For the record, I do wish fervently that I had gone your way of thinking and never smoked in the first place. I am still paying for my idiocy many years after, as is my wife.

Thanks Bubba, I didn't know that.

I imagine you've been in a vape store, it's not really personal. The ones I've been into are rather friendly and good company.

I started out simple, but I have an addictive personality and am having fun stepping it up, shopping for batteries, chargers, etc.
I certainly won't go back to smoking, I really dislike the smell now.

It really is better, I've been trying to get my Mother to vape instead of smoke, sure is tough to change the old dogs minds lol

i agree that the stores are warm and welcoming environments, but outside of them, you generally vape alone. what i meant was generally a group of people hanging out don't say "hey, let's hit up the vape shop" like they would say "let's go down to the hookah bar". also, i've never heard of anyone toking the hookah solo. seems strange.

i eventually want to stop vaping as well. it's a stepping stone for me, not an end result. it's cheaper, feeds the beast, and it's adjustable to where i can wean myself down. funny you mentioned the smell of tobacco. i was never a fan of it, even as a smoker. which i always thought was strange.

I've never smoked or vaped and have never had any desire to do either. However, I have hordes of friends who vape, many of whom formerly smoked. Many people I know who vape never smoked at all, which I find interesting. A lot of them even use 0% nicotine fluid.

I've got friends who have custom built rigs they're always tweaking and dumping money into, which is something I can understand. I could get into just building the equipment without ever using it, especially since it's electrical/electronic. But I would never actually use the thing. It's interesting to hear entirely non-geeky people talking about their ohmmeters and windings and different metals and such.

I think the subculture surrounding vaping is a bit obnoxious, but obviously that's not everyone who does it. The hipsterness of it makes me want to strangle people, but I know there are plenty of people for whom it's more than just the latest fad (especially those who traded in their cigarettes for it).

That's what I'm running into now. All my friends smoke and I just traded in my cigs for a vaporizer a month ago. They gave me so much s*** for it but I feel so much better. I did some outdoor exercise today and felt like I could've ran for days. It doesn't smell like s***, the smell doesn't pervade everything, and I feel loads better. No regrets.
