You can wax my car :naughty:
…….…no you cant!! I wax my own car thankyouverymuch!

ok, on to business: I got accepted to Embry RIddle's Lemoore, CA campus today!! I am going to be ready to move by early September when Aaron comes to the east coast on leave. He is going to take a one way plane ticket out here and drive back with me.

Here is my to do list as of right now:
1. Tell my dad (who is also financing my college education and knows nothing of my plans yet) :ohno:
2. Get another job with a company (with a company credit union) that will be easily transferrable across the country
3. Take out a personal loan ~3K with said company’s credit union to finance the move (company credit unions are much easier to get personal loans, and with a good interest rate, especially if you let them automatically take the payments out of your paycheck)
5. Find living quarters (most likely with roommates)
4. Line up a moving company to move all my junk (self moving is about twice as expensive as hiring a company to do it)
5. Register for classes once all the moving stuff is completely in place and finalized
6. Get my car prepped for a cross country trip
7. Drive (with Aaron) from Jacksonville, FL to Lemoore, Ca

These next few months are gonna be fun!

s*** that's a funny coincidence, I have a friend going to lemoore this year too to study :\ random. He's moving from Montana though.

Well that'll be a nice cross-country road trip for you and ace! (damn just realized you and ace live on opposite coasts... observant I am).

CA is sweet. You are going to love it. I hope the trip works out great, I'm sure you two will have lots of fun, and get very tired of sitting in the Z. LOL

While we're talking about prep....this is common sense but...set your tire pressures before you go; you don't want this to ruin your trip!

number 1 cause of blowouts -- underinflation
see this crap every day at my work :( easily avoided.

thanks! thats always the last thing i do before i go on a trip! does anybody know how much the tire pressure changes once the car has been on the road for a while? i know the air inside the tire heats up and expands, but how much? if i fill my tires to the recommended amount, is it possible for them to heat up and be overinflated?

It will fluctuate but don't worry about it, just set it to the 32psi or if you wanna get real technical, the recommended tire inflation pressures for your car are in the center armrest.

The numbers you see when on the center console are recommended pressures for when the tires are cold. So they will heat up and the air will expand...I usually inflate everybody's tires 4 psi over what is recommended on the sticker because they are usually already hot. I've heard the pressures increase anywhere from 3-6psi when going from hot to cold

If you fill your tires in your driveway in the morning before you go, you should be fine. Even driving a mile or so to the gas station shouldn't be a problem. Any more than that you might wanna compensate for the heat by inflating a few psi over, etc.

From what I understand, most manufacturer recommended tire pressures are figured with driving comfort in mind. Having lower inflated tires is a smoother ride, but doesn't help at all for tire wear. Maximum pressure rating for most factory sized car tires is 44 psi; if you inflate your tires to around 38-40, you should get great tire wear (depends on alignment angles as well) but you will sacrifice some comfort - which is why most cars have manufacturer recommended psi of around 32-35. That is low enough to give you a comfortable ride and it's just high enough to not wear out the tire edges too fast.

Who knew there was so much to know about tire pressure! lol

Yeah, I usually do a couple psi over. Makes for a little stiffer of a ride, but my tires do last longer and the car feels much more responsive. It's amazing what 2 psi can do.

pff, 34 all around is good. What size tires and wheels? Lower profile = more psi usually.

I run my 35 series at 40 psi just to be on the safe side. I'd rather buy a new tire than a new wheel.

All stock as far as wheels/ tires. When I go auto-x, I run around the 38 mark.

You might get better times if you dropped it down a bit... more pressure can lead to a smaller contact pad, especially when your tires heat up.

+++++++++++ vanessa did you wax your car?!? +nose panel color?
