So my 240 that I got for cheap with over 200k miles on it suffered from a blown head gasket over 4 years ago. I didnt have the space to fix it and had a car that worked so fixing it wasnt that high on the to do list. Now that I finally have the need and space to fix it I have the head off. I know one of the valves leaks pretty badly, butnd the rest dont leak though they arent in the best condition. I want to replace the valves, seats, seals, guides, etc. but money is kind of tight. I know that you can either have a cheap unreliable car or a reliable somewhat costly car but not both.

I was wondering if theres companies any of you have used besides the main BC/Supertech components that friends with money tell me that are the only thing worth putting in the head. I know its on the far end of the cheap spectrum but the more I look at my bank account balance the better the ebay valves look....also are the valve buckets interchangeable? I didnt mean to mix them up but I wasnt thinking when I took the head off and turned it over and they all fell off.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Id let the machine shop im taking the head to take care of these things but I dont have good luck when it comes to getting services performed that dont have the price set in stone or the person can pull one over on you. I think its because I still look like a 14 year old even after turning 21 so people just look at me as some kid they can take advantage of. I want to buy the parts myself so they don't have the chance to try and put cheap parts in the head and try and charge me more than its worth so they can pocket the difference.

Welcome to NICO!
I've always just gone through the machine shop when getting valves replaced. They are about 9 or 10 bucks each via www.courtesyparts.com for factory replacements.

The buckets themselves should be interchangeable, but the shims on them (which set your valve lash) are not. You'll have to bust out the feeler gauge and determine which shims need to go where... which you'd have to do when replacing the valve anyway.
