This is normal to a certain extent. There will be valve noise on a cold engine, with or without hydraulic lifters (the Versa does not have hydraulic lifters). I wouldn't worry too much as long as the noise goes away after a minute of idling.

Just a quick thought. Hopefully you are using a factory oil filter or equivelent that has the backflow valve in it. Without this the oil will take longer to get to the vital parts of your engine during start up.

I get that sound all day long with my car. Come to think of it I hear it 95% of the time when the AC is on. Is this something I should be worried about? I have 60,000Kms on it and i have a 180,000 bumper to bumper warranty.

To quiet the valves, I am now running fully Synthetic.

Regarding the noise when the A/C....... get use to it..... it's the compressor. They changed mine and it came back!

Nice eh!

That is probably the fuel injectors making that noise, it's normal. Sevice manual below....

It's normal. Open the hood of any car and you'll hear drivetrain noise. For most cars, it the injectors. Your valves shouldn't be excessively clattering no matter what oil you're using. You'll know excessive valve clatter when you hear it. It's loud and common when you change the oil on a vehicle and first start it and it takes a couple seconds to get full oil pressure due to having to fill up the new filter first (unless it sits in a position to where you can fill it first).

Actually the noise goes away after 2 or 3 minutes only.

Whatever you do, don't change the oil viscosity or add ANYTHING to the oil! the noises are normal. If your engine truly had a malfunction or failing components, they would get worse (or to the point where a warranty repair would be in order), well before the 60k mark.
