Just recently my motor started making a clicking noise when I start it. It still runs fine and idles fine. Its only on cold starts, as soon as it warms up it stops clicking. The sounds coming from the head, I think it might have something to do with the valves? Any ideas?

check oil level, then pop the valve cover off to see if the rocker arms are tight and no play in the push rods. maybe the type of oil your using. my car just started acting funny. check this out... zer...15792

no push rods in an OHC motor :P

more than likely you're hearing the usual sound an SR makes. Hydrolic lifter tick. The only way to really beat it is to get a lash killer kit, but that's extreme. You could go as far as to pull the adjusters and bleed them, but it's a PITA to do.

im thinking it is because the oil pressure is low bc the oil is cold and thick. as the oil warms up the hydraulic chain tensioner can work better and take up the slack, so the engine quiets down... makes sense to me. another reason not to beat on a cold engine...
