Finally put an exhaust on the other day (2.5 for down pipe back ) and it drives great. Unitll today I started to notice a slight ringing noise coming from what sounds like the back of the valve cover. So I pulled the cover and noticed nothing except for a little play in the timing chain. It sounds as if a bolt is loose some where with a washer on it and it is jingiling around.. Any Ideas? engine only has 95k on it.. Thanks

Timing chain noise rattling against the valve cover and/or timing cover.Usually all you have to do is replace all the chain guides and the noise will go away.

Very common problem with the KA24DE motor.

Just a warning:

Sometimes that noise could mean that the tensioner has gone bad. Since it is powered by the oil pressure in your motor this could mean that the line going to the oil pump is clogged and may need replacement.

Just be advised that you may or may not need to replace the whole timing chain and all of its compaonents, worst case scenario.

would you happen to know where that line is? I tried listening to it again today, and didn't seam to be coming from the front of the motor.
