Valve timing on 97 Infiniti Q45t w/4.1

Using Mitchell Manuel Timing chain installation diagram & aligning timing marks, I am having difficulty getting valve timing right. Front cover is installed already and engine is back in the car. Bringing to Top Dead Center, & then trying to follow the Mitchell sheet but diagram is not to scale and difficult to see. Anyone have advice or can direct me to a site with that information? Help! Jim

What is going on with the motor that you had to do all this work? I hope that it has 300k on it or you ran it out of oil!!
