valve ticking

i have a valve ticking and it ticks on when it gets to abut 3000 rpm not when idling... why is that.. it does have about 200000 miles on it so the age i think might be getting to it... thanks for the help jon

Have you checked or changed the oil lately? If not, do it, it could help. If you still have valve tick, your VG may be on its last leg.

on its last leg meaning needs a rebuild or valve adjustment maybe? thanks for the input

cheaper to buy a low mileage jdm engine instead of rebuilding yours.

If it's only 1 tick per firing cycle, then a readjustment wont do much, but if you notice that it sounds like shuffling while running, a valve adjustment would probably cure the problem. How religious are you about oil changes?

Also, try running sea foam through your engine. That helps clean out your engine a lot.

I heard running 3 gallons of bleach through your engine instead of gas does wonders for it!!

i have the same problem only difference is that i have a tickin when idle but for some odd reason it tens to easy off when the car is idle for about 5-10 min n havent been able to drive it to see how it gets while driving because i have no paper work
