Well, I am ready to install everything back on my refreshed head. Valves, cams, valve guides are ok. Valve seats are perfect. But how do I install the valve seals? I tried a old trick on using a small plastic tube, the socket and hammer and already damaged 3.How I can install these suckers ?

When I installed mine, I lubed them with oil (just any motor oil) and gently pressed them onto the guide. I then used a 3/8" extension and a rubber hammer to pop them into place.

Had no trouble from that.

lol Babowc.

The seal will "pop" into place. I just used the small end of the extension on top of the seal and whacked the other end with a rubber hammer a couple times.

Not to insult, but you do know that you install these with the valves out, right?

I can only imagine the picture, of course the valves are off!! even the head is off so no worry on falling things into the pistons.Anyway, if there a SOHC writeup, I try to find it. I was just looking for something like this but for a DOHC.When you say "use the small section" you mean where I put the ratchet, not the socket, right?

As for the "extra" seals, will let you know.

The end of the extension that fits inside the socket should go onto the stem seal. The big end, that fits over the ratchet, gets whacked with a rubber hammer.

I was pretty sure the head was off, since you said newly refreshed, sorry if I insulted you at all. LOL

Still no luckOr the seals are too smallI am hammering the wrong wayOr I am plain stupid to do this.I have damaged 5 seals up to now. Tried every trick on the book. From dipping them in hot oil up to using KY jelly. Still the seals would break or deform.

This is the only thing holding my engine build up now. DAMN SEALS!!

I will need that bag of seals for sure, will email you!!

I just got done reading the FSM and a few other install guides. It looks really straight forward, they show a hammer and drift in the FSM, thats it. The seal simply goes over the valve guide. The Tapered end faces up, so you'll be tapping the tapered end with the drift. Here's the FSM if you need it. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/240sx/1995/EM.pdf look under Oil Seal Replacement.

The SOHC uses different seals for intake & exhaust - one metal, one plastic. If they do not simply tap into place you are putting them on the wrong side.

Since I had left over seals I'd guess both motors use the same seals. You have different ones for intake & exhaust right? Perhaps you have the wrong parts.

Absolutely - some were metal (intake IIRC) and the others (exhaust) were a plastic type material. I switched them accidentally and had the same problem. 10 to 1 you have the wrong parts.

This is the kit I bought http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V

I not sure if I am going to use their headgasket or not,as for the other gaskets, was a good deal since I couldnt find them locally for less than 150 a set!!
