HEY,

I got my block back from the machine shop. It's about time for me to start getting parts for the head. My biggest concern at this moment is the valve springs. I was wondering what everybody was using.

Will 300ZX valve springs work in the CA head with no problems? because I'm having trouble finding CA valve springs.

Has anybody just used brand new stock Nissan OEM CA valve springs and not had any problems with the cams? I plan on using Tomei Poncams 260 degree cams.

thanks to all-chris

There's quite a few sellers on ebay selling the springs, as well as ravspec here on the fourms. You can get tomei springs for about $300 shipped, thats what Im going to use. As far as anything elce, I found some JUN springs and retainers, they are pricey...about $350-400 for the regular titanium retainers, and 700 for the 'better' retainers.

Order high performance springs for the VG30DE and you should be just fine as they do work and I currently use them in my car.

While we are on the subject of the head, some tell me how successful they have been with new OEM head bolts, at what point are they good too hp wise?

I dont think its really the HP that determines why people use ARP, its that you can re-use ARP as many times as you want, and the stock ones strech.

What's the saying? Studs are an engineer's choice, bolts are an accountant's. Something like that?
